Tatami, Taiwanese tea, and a 1924 Buddhist abbot’s residence.
Specialty teahouse in a 1924 Japanese-era rinban (abbot’s) residence next to the historic Nishi Honganji temple grounds. Restored by Taipei City Cultural Affairs in 2011, operated by 八拾捌茶 since 2014. Tea master Zhou Jieling 周潔鈴, a respected charcoal-roaster, oversees the tea selection. Tatami seating, Taiwanese teas (often with the venue’s own roasting), and high-grade Japanese tea sweets (上生和菓子). Combines the historic-architecture significance of Wistaria with the specialty-roasting credentials of CHENGPION.
