Zhengyan means 'true rock,' tea grown within the protected Wuyi scenic area on mineral-rich volcanic rock. The original bushes, over 350 years old, still grow on Jiulongke cliff but no longer produce commercially. All modern Da Hong Pao is propagated from cuttings of these mother trees.
