Yingde Hong Cha (Yingde Red)

Developed in the late 1950s using large-leaf Yunnan-type cultivars crossed with Assam stock. It gained recognition in the 1960s as a regular purchase of the British royal household. Despite this history, Yingde Red remains less well known outside China than its quality warrants.
