From Gopaldhara, one of the highest gardens in Darjeeling, up around 2,000 metres in the Mirik valley. A first flush: spring leaf, barely oxidised, picked after the bushes wake from winter. Pale in the cup, floral and brisk, with the green-fresh snap that first flush is bought for.
