Taiwan and Anxi · autumn harvest

Cooler nights slow the leaf’s growth, concentrating the aromatic oils.

The autumn harvest in Taiwan and Anxi produces a different character than spring. Autumn Tieguanyin is often more fragrant than the spring version: lighter, more floral, less of the lush body that spring’s warmth produces. Taiwan’s high mountain gardens are picking their second flush now too. The season is brief, the teas are worth paying attention to.
