Commemorates Toyotomi Hideyoshi's 1587 Kitano Grand Tea Ceremony, held every 1 December at Kitano Tenmangū. Kyoto's six main tea schools (Omote, Ura, Mushakōji Senke, Yabunouchi, Hisada, Horiuchi) rotate as host, opening additional public seatings at Meigetsusha, Shōkōken and Kamishichiken.
